Mayo manager Michael Solan made seven changes from the side that started the previous week against Donegal with Marcus Park, Gary McHale, James Kelly, Cathal Hennelly, Ryan O’Donoghue, Barry Duffy and Colm Reape all coming into the starting 15 for this North West Cup Final against Sligo. 

The defending All Ireland U21 champions got off to a ropey start in the North West Cup last weekend against Sligo in the Sligo Centre of Excellence. The Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club celebrates more success on the international stage. Six fighters, who were part of a 45 strong Irish team, competed at the Unified World Championships in Tuscany in Italy. The Unified World Championships is the world's largest martial arts tournament, attracting thousands of competitors each year from 120 countries. The Galway fighters took a total of five gold, four silver and five bronze medals after fighting the best kickboxers from around the globe.

For the third time in five years Mayo have made their way back to the All Ireland Junior final and for the third time the men from Kerry will be standing in their way. When the counties met back in the final in Ennis in 2012, Kerry accounted for Mayo by nine points on a score of 0-19 to 1-7, and last year in Croke Park the Kingdom did for them again, this time on a scoreline of 2-18 to 0-10.

New Mayo u21 manager Michael Solan has named a very strong looking team for his sides outing against Leitrim in Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday evening. The majority of this years crop of u21s were involved in the All Ireland minor winning campain three years ago with a number of players making the step up to the senior side in recent years.
